Is the software compatible with a Mac?

None of the software is Mac compatible.

What is the yearly support cost for VistaDent and OrthoMation and what is included?

  • VistaDent OC Consultant – (27-310-85) $300* – Unlimited technical support between 8AM and 5PM CST Monday – Friday and all updates with the year shipped UPS 2nd Day Air.
  • VistaDent OC Complete – (27-310-95) $600* - Unlimited technical support between 8AM and 5PM CST Monday – Friday and all updates with the year shipped UPS 2nd Day Air.
  • OrthoMation – (27-450-05) $395* - Unlimited technical support between 8AM and 5PM CST Monday – Friday; all updates within the year shipped UPS 2nd Day Air, and access to online case presentation services while current.
  • All other software – GAC will support the program as long as you own it. The TechnoCenter hours are between 8AM and 5PM CST Monday – Friday.

* Fees will increase March 1, 2008: VistaDent Consultant = $345; VistaDent Complete = $690; OrthoMation = $455

Is hourly support available?

Yes. It is billed at $80/hour/incident with a one-hour minimum billed in hourly increments. For reference, Microsoft offers phone support for XP Professional at $245/incident billed before troubleshooting starts.

Do I need an Internet connection for support?

Yes. Get a broadband connection (cable, DSL, T1) so that we can use our support tools efficiently.

Do I need PCAnywhere so that GAC can remotely control my computer for troubleshooting?

No. We use the Citrix gotoassist service that only requires that: (1) The computer we work on has Internet access and (2) that you can receive an e-mail at that computer.
